Hip to be GEP!

Whoohoo~ GEP camp has been enjoyable, as always! Especially when the electives are so mighty fun; I really wanted to do every one of them! There were a total of 20 electives, ranging from Magic Tricks, to Japanese Language, to Ice Skating, to Chinese Movies, to Sign Language and Cooking! It was a really tough choice deciding which electives to choose.

In the end, I settled for Japanese Language on Tuesday and Sign Language on Wednesday =D Hah! Now I know how to read more than just 'の', hee!

And sign language was super fun too; learning to sign the alphabet and common words. Plus we were taught to sign by this really nice lady, Ann, from the Singapore Association for the Deaf. Guess what, she's deaf herself, but who better to teach the sign language?

And today we went on the Learning Journey, I guess it was pretty fun too x) We got to get out of school and into the real world!

GEP Camp was really such a nice break from the usually horrible school stuff.

Can't Wait...!

AHHHH~

I still haven't gotten my hands on 《逆光》! OK, I've checked the internet, and somehow half of them say that it's released on the 21st, while the other half says that it's out on the 22nd. So fine, I waited till today to get my copy, yet in the end I was still left disappointed. Pfft!

The CD shop I went to even had a poster for 《逆光》 and it read "三月二十二 正式发行".

Me: “请问一下,孙燕姿的新专辑《逆光》有吗?"
Staff: "哦,很抱歉,还没有."
Me: *Points to poster.* "它的发行日不就是今天吗?"
Staff: "嗯,但货还没来."
Me: "哦..." ='(

Now I've gotten their phone number and will keep calling till they tell me that it's here. Grr.

White Butterfly

Just before Language Arts B was recess, so like every other day, I returned the class register to the front office. Kevin followed along, and it was on the way there that we spotted this little white butterfly. I think it was injured, because it wasn't flying very high. But the way it fluttered, up and down, occasionally stopping to rest... And it seemed so fragile... It just made us want to stop and admire.

When I snapped out of it, I thought, "It must be a good omen for my IOP later on!".

But now I guess not. >.> It went... "Alright", I guess. But not as well as I wanted it to go; I ran out of time! Now, I just hope that Mr. Wong had been very generous, hee ^^ And am also happy that I'm done with my IOP and got it over and done with. 我已从混乱解脱!

Week By Week

Every weekend I go to my gramp's, which happens to be somewhere around Tanjong Katong. That means that my dad will take us on the ECP to get there, and I've realised how interesting it is to see how the Singapore Flyer builds up week by week.

Singapore Flyer

Singapore 's version of the London Eye, the 165-metre-high observation wheel will provide visitors a breathtaking, unobstructed radial view of 45km spanning three countries – Singapore , Malaysia and Indonesia .

Surrounding the Flyer will be a two-storey terminal building that will house a main shopping mall, a central atrium with lush Asian rainforest and water features, a retail and entertainment centre, an alfresco waterfront dining promenade and an open-air Greek Theatre concert bowl for live performances.

The Flyer is expected to be completed in 2008 and is on a land area of 37,500sqm.

(Taken From http://www.marina-bay.sg/)

Some time back it was just simply the central stand, then slowly it went from one sector of the ferris wheel, to a quarter, to half, and just today when I saw it, it's already 3/4 done! Looks like it'll be completed on time by 2008.

As for whether I'll really take a ride then, I have my doubts...! *Eeks, so high!*

Even She Knows

On my way home today, I stopped by my local grocery store to get a drink. I was mighty thirsty, see, so I grabbed a bottle of Ice Cream Soda and headed for the counter.

Auntie: "$1"
Me: "嗯"
*She notices that I'm in my school uniform.*
Auntie: "Looks like the school holidays aren't school holidays for you?"
Me: "咳,说得没错."

Even she knows.

It's a Wrap!

Today was our final filming session for the 'Misadventures of Boon'! For the past few Saturdays, we've been coming in the morning and leaving in the afternoon; all for the final product, which are two 15-minute-long videos.

So much hard work just to produce 30 minutes worth of footage; imagine how much effort it takes to film a drama serial or a blockbuster movie! And then there's so much to consider; the actors, the sound, the lighting, the props... Like for example last Saturday! We waited so long just to film this scene because the band was playing and there were buses zooming about; all making so much noise! And once they stopped we would go, "OK quick they've stopped let's film before they start again!"

And I really, really, really 佩服 all the actors and actresses! Andy, Wei Yi, Valerie, all of them! They aren't even professional; they're just university students who volunteered, but they've done such an amazing job.

Then there's also Chriz, Rui Wen, and Aaron behind the camera; they're so knowledgeable and experienced. I've learnt a lot about filming from them. Respect!

So yeps, today's the last of the filming, I remember how I was so tired at the end of the session, but I'll definitely miss all the action. It's a wrap!

P.S. Of course, now it'll be the editing before we get the final product... Hope that all goes well!

My Good Friend

I hate it when I'm caught in a dilemma; especially one that involves people. It's one of those things where you'll always end up disappointing someone, no matter what choice you make.

Today I was caught in another one of these dreadful things... I made a choice, and in the process, disappointed someone. >.<

But this certain someone, is such an understanding person... And I really thank you for that, my good friend. =)

Cotton Candy Clouds

(Wow, do you think I can keep this up? Now that all this loads in an instant, I don't take too long to post!)

The sky every morning is really pretty sometimes; today has got to be one of the best.

I was just sitting in class being busy, when Kyle told me that the sky outside looked something close to brilliant. I ran out to take a look, and wow! It seriously looked like swirls of pink cotton candy in the sky! Imagine if I could take a bite, hur. (Then I'd leave a bite-mark.)

Pity I didn't have a camera to take pictures with, though... But no matter; just make sure you guys take a break every now and then to just look up in the sky or the things around you. These are the little things in life that can perk you up. x)

Interogated

I was one of the 6 IP class chairmen who were selected to go for an interview about the IB programme today; previously I thought that it'd be some boring, one-to-one, ask-questions-answer-questions thing, but it turned out to be so much more fun!

I was the 2nd one there, and lo and behold! It was a bunch of tables arranged together and 8 chairs around; 6 for us and the other 2 for our NIE interviewers. In the middle of the table were a bunch of bottled drinks and chips and snacks and chocolates, yummie!

They asked us to pick a bottle and start eating, hur, while we waited for the rest of the chairmen to come. After they came, they started asking us questions as a group, and we discussed all sorts of stuff about our IB programme. Who ever thought that sharing about our school and our IB programme was so enjoyable? We spent about 2 hours just, well, chitchatting, and time flew by real quick. I didn't want it to end, you know!

But the good news is that it seems like the NIE officers who interviewed us are doing a project on the IB programme in various schools over a span of a few years, and they didn't want to just take a snapshot of students. Which means that they'd rather see how the same students progress through the years...! How cool is that; which means I'll probably be seeing them again sometime soon. Plus, I broke the ice between me and my fellow Year 4 chairmen, hah. Hi Marc, Amos, Levin, Yao Yu and Jonathan! =D

Revival!

Hello people! Long time no see. (5 months to be exact, heh.)

Yeah so I haven't been blogging, boo. Because blogging had become such a chore when it takes FOREVER to load blogger.com and then FOREVER to log in to my dashboard, such that I don't get to blog in the end even when I feel like it.

But! As you can see, I've tried again and this time things are loading real quick! So I actually got to this New Post page in time to actually type something out and post it, hee.

So there, I've posted! Albeit a short post, but hopefully all this loads as quick in future when I feel like posting something! (And not to mention if there's time for me to post in the first place. )

Byebye!
