First Day

Well here we are at the last day of 2005. The way I see it, it's definitely something we should be happy about! This year has been great for me; everyone that has grown, cried, and laughed with me, everything that I've experienced and learned. Thanks to everyone who's made it such a great year! It is sad that we're now at the end of it, but hey. Next year will be as good as, if not better, than this year for sure.

Right now I'm looking forward. Not only to tonight's Annual Countdown Barbeque at my gramp's XD, but also tomorrow, that first day of the new year, as well as the future. =)

"Is the future more important? Absolutely. You can't remain happy forever with memories, but each new day gives new hope for joy."

(Sorry for koping this from you, Michael! But it just makes so much sense. =))

Since I'll be away at my gramp's, here's to wishing you a Happy New Year in advance~! ^^

Merry Christmas~!

Merry Christmas! Sorry this came this late; I've been away at my gramp's for Christmas. (And essentially every other weekend as well.) I hope everyone has had a wonderful day; be it feasting on turkey, salads and soups, or ripping your painstakingly-wrapped Christmas gifts apart. I know I did! ^^

This Christmas has been as fun as always! First it's the _decorations_! This year I cut out a snowman from styrofoam and added all his features with funky stuff from around the house! Plus Christmas trees with miniature presents to go with too. =D Oh and I made my _own_ balloon sculpture design -- Santa hats! Eh, I use my own imagination wan hor! Never copy from any book or what.

Next is... Gift wrapping! Last year my brilliant idea was to make our own mistletoes to add as a deco for the presents using coloured paper. This year, my family used pretty yellow stars! And added colourful dangling tags to them too. ^^

I _love_ eating, and preparing the food you're gonna' eat is equally as fun. XD This year we prepared salads, pumkin soup, ham, ribs, and chicken wings! I just _love_ Christmas feasts. ^^

Finally, presents! Not only is opening your own presents great fun, seeing other people open their's is fun too! Especially when they like what you've gotten them. ^^ This year I got another bag, a CD, and some shirts. (Including a pink one! o_o Treat this as an advanced warning.)

Oh well, I'm content and happy this Christmas! We always are, huh. I guess what makes Christmas so great every year is that everyone's happy. =) Be it feasting on turkey, salads and soups, or ripping your painstakingly-wrapped Christmas gifts apart. ;)

Movie Madness: 2

Just today I went out again for a movie and badminton at Junction 8; I think this'll be the last outing this year with my friends. )= (But don't worry there's still next year. XD) We split into 2 groups for the movies; one group who's watching King Kong, and the other, The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.

Faithful readers of this blog should know that I've already watched King Kong, so I watched Narnia instead. Surprisingly, only me and Kwok Yeong chose to watch that, but oh well. Not so sure about Kwok Yeong, but I found that Narnia was...

1) Spectacular! Again, all the CGI and animations never cease to astound.
2) Fantastic! I've always _loved_ fantasy movies; seeing unicorns, fauns, gryphons, magic, and the like is just plain cool. ^^
3) Funny! OK maybe it's not as funny as other comedies, since it's not a comedy in the first place. XD But still, there were lots of funny moments in the show. (I love the beavers!)

After the movie we met up again for badminton at the Bishan Sports Complex, just a stone's throw away from Junction 8. Soon it was nearing 5.20 p.m., and after a little snack at McDonald's after badminton, I rushed home for my Taste of Love. XD (Monday Da Jie Ju liao!)

Balloonatic!

The past few days I've been surfing the Qualatex webbie, and have been stuffing myself nuts with the pretty balloon designs and sculptures and pictures! Gosh they're amazing, you have _got_ to go take a look for yourself.

So right now I've gotten myself a new aspiration; to get my own balloon shop! Just imagine if I could have a similar shop like the Party with Us at Holland Village! Or the one at Centrepoint and River Valley! (Yep I just got news that they've got a new shop at Valley Point! ^^) Then I can blow my own birthday balloons! And for different events like Christmas and New Year and National Day~! XD

Now all I'll need would be money. >.> Gues I'll earn lotsa' lotsa' money teaching and then treat it as some business venture. =D Wish me luck!

Final Fantasy!

Disclaimer: Please excuse this Final Fantasy fanboy as he raves about getting new FF:XII material.

I GOT MY HANDS ON THE FINAL FANTASY TWELVE DEMO~!

I almost can't believe it! For days and months and years I've been longing for Final Fantasy Twelve; looking at all the screenshots, reading all the articles, watching all the videos...! Now I've finally gotten the demo and I can't say how much fun it is~!

Sure it's a bit different from the previous FFs, but it's still 100% FF. The whole... _Feel_ you get out of playing it is still the same! (The only thing I don't really like is the camera; hope that when the final version is released you can toggle the configurations so that the camera is auto or something.)

Yeah fellow gamers should know about the demo, it comes with Dragon Quest 8. But no, I didn't buy it. =P I got it from my... 'distant uncle'. He's my mother's cousin, and he plays lotsa' lotsa' games. So yeah I borrowed it from him, not too sure if I can lend it out or anything. > . >

Time Travel: Sentosa

I shall do the never-done-before; time travel back to the past! I know I shouldn't, but the date now in which I'm typing this is the 19th of December, the date you see up there is just so that I can split my posts nicely, since I've got something to talk about for both Saturday and Sunday. > . >

So let's all fiddle with the buttons and magically end up back on Saturday 17th December...

***

Today I went to Sentosa with my family! So nice to be back there again, it's been ages since I've last been there, and it's changed so much. Now there're new attractions, new shops and stuff, the monorail's gone...

~Top 10 Sentosa Experiences~

#10:Navigating monorail-less and under-constuction-ed Sentosa.

This proved to be the ultimare bummer. The bus routes were a tad tough to figure out, and even so, the walking and locating of the bus stops were tough. And just when we thought we had everything figured out, a metal fence in the middle of the path greets us with 'Upgrading underway, sorry for the inconvenience caused.' The Amazing Race should get them to come here. XD

#9: Images of Singapore

This is still pretty much the same as it's always been, except that at the end there's now an extra 'Singapore Celebrates' section, and since it was Christmas there was this Santa girl there distributing candy. XD

#8: Butterfly Park

This was sadly, still the same as it's always been. They should upgrade it! Add more butterflies! Add more exhibits and stuff! Oh wells, the butterflies are still pretty, I guess, and the (same) exhibits are still interesting. =D Oh, and weirdly, I saw two pairs of butterflies, err, mating. o_o" Well that proved to be a one-of-a-kind situation that I may never see again, except on National Geographic.

#7: Siloso Beach

Walking along the beach is still fun as ever; all the sand, sun and sea.

#6: Merlion

After growing older and the Sky Tower, the Merlion looks so much... Smaller. Earlier my memory of it was that it was as huge as the Satue of Liberty or something, but not that I've even seen the Statue of Liberty. > . > But the Merlion was still fun, at the start there was this cool cartoon animation about the Merlion, and at the end there was this mystery gift thingie, and I my family got free keychains, fans, and coasters. ^^

#5: Delifrance

OK this isn't exactly an attraction, it's just a shop. XD Well we still got to eat yummie yummie sandwiches, so. ^^

#4: New Zealand's Ice Cream

Yeah again, this isn't exactly an attraction, it's just a shop. XD But oh well, I did eat Chocolate Ecstasy there, and that already deserves this #3 spot.

#3: Chairlift

Heights aren't my thing, but weirdly I kinda' liked this! From up there you can feel the light 'Siloso sea breeze', let your feet dangle below you, and enjoy the scenery. ^^

#2: Sky Tower

I really thought that the Carlsberg Sky Tower was great! It's not so much of a ride, more of an observation deck thingamo. What happens is that it slowly ascends and revolves at the same time, so you get to see places far out across to the mainland. (It gets so high, the Merlion looks so much tinier than what it seems; I almost couldn't believe that it was the Merlion I was looking at! XD)

#1: Family

Being with my family is the best, of course! ^^

Movie Madness~!

Daniel's birthday was on the 13th, but he celebrated it on the 14th so we could watch King Kong! We met at Tampines Mall at 10 a.m.; Adwyn and Daniel's brother Samuel were there too. Initially I was never keen on King Kong, but now I think it's a spectacular movie and so you should watch it too! I guess Peter Jackson is really a good director, huh. XD

Well I don't want to spoil it, but let's just say...

1) It scared the living daylights out of me; there were the freaky tribal people, and the creepy crawlies, and the terrifying T-Rexes. !_!
2) I was gripping onto the edge of my seat; the CGI was great, and so were the sequences, cinematography and everything!
3) It was moving; you get so terrified of King Kong at first, but then you slowly start to feel for the poor 'little' animal~! T_T
4) And Singapore gets mentioned. XD

After the movie we went for lunch at McDonald's, and then took a train up to Daniel's humble abode. Everything there was pretty much packed into cardboard boxes, since he was gonna' be moving to his new closer-to-school place somewhere in Pine Grove soon. Thankfully, his Xbox wasn't packed yet; we spent pretty much all the time playing Halo 2. XD Around 4 we went downstairs to play table-tennis for an hour, just before me and Adwyn took a shuttle bus to the Pasir Ris MRT and whisked ourselves back to our home sweet homes.

***

Just today I went to catch another movie; Chicken Little! XD This time I went to Juction 8, with Boey Yang and Kevin. I'd always wanted to catch this movie, but the people around me have always been reluctant; you know who you are. -_- Luckily for me, we were left with no choice since Boey Yang's choice-of-movie Zathura was no longer screening, and everything else has been watched. (With the exception of Perhaps Love which I _still_ want to watch but, again, no one else does.) We met at around 1.30 p.m. to have lunch at the food court, and then caught the movie at 2.50 p.m.

Chicken Little was great in my opinion because...

1) It is _really_ funny! Just when you thought that possibly all the jokes in the world have been exhausted.
2) Don't know 'bout you, but I love these animated movies! This one is no exception, especially with all the cute animal citizens of Oakey Oaks.
3) Behind the seemingly childish movie still lie important things to note about life and the like. =)
4) I spotted the hidden Mickey~! ^^

***

Yay, so that pretty much sums up what I've been doing at the movies the past few days. ^^ Other than that, I've been...

1) Listening to my new Corrs CD, Home! It was released in October and got bad reviews, so I kinda' forgot about it... (I'm such a bad fan!) Well I listened to Jason's copy when I went to his place, and fell instantly in love with it, don't understand how they got 3-star ratings only! So yeah I bought it today and am happily listening to it now. ^^
2) Reading The Crucible. Finished Malgudi Days some time ago, so have just started on it. Well I thought the cover was majero freaky; especially with it lying around the house. So yeah I solved that problem by making my own cover~! =D I took paper and wrapped the cover, then I drew my own cover picture in. =P Now it looks so much better. ;)
3) Looking for Metamorphosis by Kafka! Went to buy my remaining school books on Tuesday and have now gotten everything but the optional books and the aforementioned. Apparently they only had 80 copies for us GEP students, but some kiasu/blur mainstream buddies missed out the '(SBGE only)' and bought it too, resulting in poor GEP students like my sourcing bookstores all over Singapore for it. Bummer.

Ola~!

Chain Game?

RULES OF THE GAME:

1)Post 5 weird or random stuff about yourself.

2)At the end, write 5 people's names, the people whom you want to do this quiz next. Next, tag their blog. Leave them a note to tell them to read your blog.

How fun, Daniel made me do it. XD Daniel, this shall be part one of your birthday present! ^^

- One or two people think I'm on crack, but I'm definitely not. -_-
- I think that the snowflakes you see up there are pretty.
- Hmm, I have a birthmark on my left palm! XD
- I almost _never_ take off my wristwatch.
- I was (And probably still am.) a helium balloon sensor! When I was young and still caried around in my mum's arms I'd go 'Ballballballballball!' and tug at my mum whenever I saw a helium balloon. XD Oh of course, I just go 'Balloon!' when I see one these days. x)

Now to pick people... Boey Yang, Michael, Gideon, Herrick and Jason. ^^

Travel Log

1ST DECEMBER

My family woke up earlyearly in the morning 6 a.m. to beat the jam. XD We headed via Second Link, and first stop was Genting! The ride was pretty OK, but I guess it was a little squishy; besides my family of 4 were my uncle, aunt, and two cousins. So the eight of us squeezed into one car, but thankfully we own one of those 7-seater cars, so it wasn't too bad. =)

Along the way we stopped a few times, here and there for some food and rest. Not before long, we were nearing Genting! Anyway, you know how it always happens in the movies -- You approach. The clouds clear. The sun shines. Everything sparkles. You look on to that breathtaking view in awe...

Well for Genting, it's a totally different story! Haha, as my dad circles the mountain, climbing higher every metre, more and more clouds appear and it gets all misty! (Well actually it's because we're getting higher and higher, but oh well! XD) It was my first time going up into the clouds; you could wind down the car window and touch them! Plus it's the coldest place I've ever been, so being up there in Genting is, both literally and figuratively, uber _cool_~! (I guess that's why it's called Yun Ding in Chinese too, hor! XD)

We checked in into First World Hotel; my uncle said it's the biggest hotel in Asia, is that right? Well don't let that fool you. > . > The hotel is big because they've got lotsa' lotsa' rooms -- small rooms, that is. So it was a little bit of a problem for us, we got 2 rooms; one for each family. Well thankfully, it was only for one night, and we didn't spend much time in the room, it was all around the theme park and mall! ^^ (I'm not trying to put the hotel down, it's still a nice hotel. =) It's rainbow coloured!)

So yeah, Genting was great; it was nice and cool, plus the theme park was fun! Other than that we did shopping and eating, but things up there in the mountains tend to get expensive. > . <> . <> . < Weirdly, they had insects and snakes there. o_o" Nonetheless, it was still fun looking at the aminals, they were really quite fascinating. ^^

Finally, it was time to go. My uncle, aunt, and 2 cousins were staying on longer in KL, so this time we had the car to ourselves. Oh and don't worry, my cousins just took a train back yesterday. XD We rushed back just in time to catch the Star Awards. ^^

Star Awards aside, I loved the trip, it was super. For now, I'd think a trip to Malaysia beats going to faraway places like UK. XD (Ms. Mazlind says a plate of Nasi Lemak there costs SGD$15 there, plus it tastes much more horrible. XD)

Malaysia, Truly Asia! =D

Phoenix Down!

Hewwoe~!

So sorry, I've been in Malaysia (Genting/Kuala Lumpur) the past four days, just got back in sunny Singapore (Actually I got home yesterday night, so. Err. 'moony Singapore', then. XD) BTW I didn't post a warning post in case later people know I not home, and then come to my home to steal and set my home on fire. o_o (Excuse my Singlish.)OK but seriously, yeah you shouldn't tell the whole world you're overseas; now didn't we learn that in P4 Social Studies? *tsk, tsk*

Anyway, right now I'm just reviving my 1-week-deaded blog with this short post, will post soon about my great trip! =D
